The Sleep Over

Last Thursday was my daughter's eleventh birthday. I kept putting off  the actual planning of the party off because I wanted to hold on to her last days as a little girl as long as I could. She is the last of my babies growing up.  She is growing up so fast. Come Thursday I really hadn't had anything set into stone as to how her birthday was going to go. I knew she wanted to go skating and have some friends spend the night. I asked her if she wanted me to come skating with them and of course, she didn't. So that is what we did. I paid the way for her and four friends to go to Hot Wheels on Friday and skate from 7-11 and then brought them back home with us after it was over. I told her brother Dakota that he could lock his door before going to bed. It was five the next morning and I could still hear them giggling from the other end of the house.  The weatherman had forecasted rain all weekend. Thank goodness he was wrong and the rain held off for Saturday; they were able to get out and not be trapped inside. I was so glad. I should have had a set time for the parents to come pick them up. I kind of figured at least one would end up spending the whole weekend; but not all of them!  They all ended up staying until Sunday! I was glad I stocked up on chips, dips and snacks because other than cooking hamburgers on Saturday thats what they had to eat. Although I was glad for them to go, so I could get my house back in order, they really were no trouble. I went to bed at my normal time and Cassidy had a birthday that she will never forget.
